WE’RE BACK!
WorldSkills – Take 2
The Canadian Printing Industries Sector Council (CPISC), Skills/Compétences Canada and Mohawk College co-hosted a Team Canada Selection Event at Mohawk College in Brantford, Ontario on May 21st and 22nd. Five candidates representing Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland competed for a spot on the podium. Stephen Rogers of Newfoundland won gold; Jessica Stegemann of Nova Scotia won silver and Tom Middlebro of Ontario brought home bronze and will be joining Team Canada 2011.
Every two years, Canada competes at the WorldSkills Competition, against the best in the world! This will be the 11th international competition event in which Canada participates. More than 30 successful Canadian competitors will be participating and will represent Canada at this prestigious international event that will be hosted in London, England from October 5 - 8 2011. The event will involve competitors from 49 member countries.
The generous donations of time and material that Heidelberg Canada, TMP Image Printing, Spicers, Flint Group, Lintec Label and Print Solutions, ICPF/Canada and L&L Shuttle & Charter Service gave is greatly appreciated by everyone involved with this competition.
After winning bronze at WorldSkills 2010 in Calgary, we really want gold this time around!
