Skills and Technology Roadmap

The Skills and Technology Roadmap (STRM) is an important addition to the CPISC database of technology trends, human resources challenges, indicators and information on the printing industry.

The roadmap is specifically designed to help the printing and graphic communications industry navigate an environment of changing technologies and related human resources issues.

The STRM explores the technologies that will shape the sector and forecasts the impact they will have on skills development and training.

The Charting our Course roadmap report was developed with direction and input from a blue-ribbon panel of industry leaders and key stakeholders, with its findings validated by more than 60 industry stakeholders from across the country.

Financial support for the project was provided by the Government of Canada through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) and Industry Canada.

The CPISC Skills and Technology Roadmap is based on a shared vision from the industry, which means it provides a framework for implementing technologies that is relevant for the sector.

The STRM is also a planning tool that gives people in the printing and graphic communications sector a context for identifying, evaluating, and selecting the technology and training strategies that best meet their needs.
