Training Needs Assessment
The CPISC Training Needs Assessment project is an in-depth analysis of the existing education and training available to the printing industry, and the learning needs of the sector.
The Training Needs Assessment project builds on the work of CPISC, including the 2007 Review of Training Programs and the development of national Skill Standards.
Through the Training Needs Assessment project CPISC will:
- Assess what training needs exist in each process area,
starting with the press production area - Explore a range of training delivery and
knowledge transfer models that meet those needs - Determine the most effective training options that reflect the needs of the industry
Discussions and interviews with industry representatives, including educators, suppliers, print establishments and members of the Training Needs Assessment working group, are a key part of the project.
These discussions will help explore various training options that can be introduced to better meet the training needs of all companies in the printing and graphic communications sector – regardless of size.
Initial discussions with industry will occur in spring 2009. These will be followed by industry validation and release of the project report later in the year.
